Impression Liu Sanjie is a world-famous open-air night performance staged on the Li River in Yangshuo, using the surrounding karst mountains and river as its natural backdrop. Directed by Zhang Yimou, the acclaimed filmmaker of the Beijing Olympics opening ceremony, the show blends folk music, ethnic dance, and light effects into a magical experience.

The performance is inspired by the legend of Liu Sanjie, a mythical folk singer of the Zhuang minority, known for her beautiful voice and spirit of love and freedom. With over 600 performers from local villages and stunning use of water, light, and sound, the show is a cultural highlight of any Guilin trip.
